A Little Copyediting Humor

Yes, there is such a thing. This was sent to me recently:

Q. How many art directors does it take to change a light bulb?
A. Does it have to be a light bulb?

Q. How many copyeditors does it take to change a light bulb?
A. The last time this question was asked it involved art directors. Is the difference intentional? Should one or the other instance be changed? It seems inconsistent.

Hey! I know an editor that resembles that remark. Great guy. Most of the time.

Love ya, Bill! I hope we get to work together again soon.

Q: How many project editors does it take to change a light bulb?

A: Author needs to specify the light bulb type. Acquisitions has stated a preference for an energy-saving fluorescent bulb; however, the budget is only enough for an incandescent.

Reminds me of the best editing cartoon I've ever seen (from The New Yorker, I believe). It shows an editor sitting behind his big desk, across from a familiar-looking gentleman with a mustache and goatee.
The editor is saying: "Come now, Mr. Dickens, either it was the best of times or it was the worst of times. It could hardly have been both."
Yes, we've all known THOSE editors, haven't we?
